Army EOD & Search Association
Connecting EOD & Search, serving & retired, individual & corporate
ABOUT US
The purpose of the Army EOD & Search Association is to enable our community network, connecting EOD & Search, serving and retired, individual and corporate. Our community includes the Army EOD & Search Regiments of the Royal Engineers and the Royal Logistic Corps. It also includes the serving and retired EOD and IEDD operators and Search Advisors. Our community also includes the charities that support operators and provide humanitarian mine clearance. As well as the largest to the smallest industry organisations, who provide the technologies and equipment our community uses.

The Association seeks to compliment not replicate the functions of other organisations in the EOD & Search community.

The Association traces its origins to the dining clubs formed by the officers of the three bomb disposal regiments (themselves formed from the second world war bomb disposal companies) when their regiments were disbanded in 1967. The first President was Col B S T Archer GC OBE ERD FRIBA and the first Hon Secretary was Lt Col E E Wakeling ERD. The dining club changed its name firstly to the Bomb Disposal Officers Club then to the Royal Engineers Bomb Disposal Officers Club in 1998. In 2022 the Club decided to change into the current Army EOD & Search Association and to open up its membership to all Army EOD operators and to Search Advisors. While maintaining the principle of individual membership for people who have qualified in roles involving a high degree of skill and exposure to risk.
